Mood Retro is a new game studio with roots in open source software and games for education, tinkering and help people learn about gamedev and programming.

Created a 2D metroidvania platformer called Spacevoid as shareware written in Pico-8 and a larger game in Rust for everyone to play for free works cross platform using Wine and two open world 3D games verified to also working cross platform.

Spacevoid3D coming soon! The next game to finish and release is in Godot and mostly single player adventure and a Unity game that is multiplayer focused. If you want to try these games or have questions contact me for details to join the MoodRetro Discord.

These games are all in a working state but they need more work to complete. Looking to collaborate with people who work in Blender, Godot or Unity! We have code written in Rust, Python and C++

The full spacevoid 2d game is in beta and has multiple bosses and a door key system, runs on all major platforms. Contact us if you are interested in being in the beta program.

Will be launching a game in Godot and creating educational content as well and document the journey and tradeoffs of the different technology vs creating my own engine.

Excited to share and to continue on this learning and creative journey. I have a working system and the game has 5 levels so far.

Initial early Release early access is planned for 2027 or 2028 and will be uploading screenshots soon like the one which shows a 3D low poly tree and mushroom I created in blender.

The 3rd screenshot with the 2d house and trees is a cozy Pico-8 game currently called catdance my kid made all the artwork!
